On May 1, 2026, our country's low-cost airline, Spirit Airlines, suddenly closed it's doors.
In 1964, Spirit was born Clippert Trucking Company and then she became an airline in 1983 known Charter One Airlines. Finally in 1992, she became the airline we know today.
She's had her ups and downs— in 1994 she had to cancel 1400 tickets because she was overbooked, but she used that setback as her comeback.
She has remained a fixture in the industry for the past 34 and has provided people cost-effective tickets to the vacation they saved their PTO for and the only honeymoon they can afford after purchasing a wedding.
